Another delicious dinner @ Cacio e Pepe - BAGUS!

Baby treated me to dinner at Cacio e Pepe again. One of my favourite Italian restaurants - possibly in Singapore. I didn't write this post (see blog in the link attached) but I swear that it's pretty well written. A post that I certainly do not know how to write. All I know is the food was/is delicious. Die die must try.

I particularly like their:

Pietro Pizza
Carnivore Pizza
Meat Lover
Portobello
Vongole
Calamari

Die die must try okay. By the way, I really like their hospitality. In terms of food and customer service, they are 500 times better than the likes of Michaelangelo or Sistina. No more Chip Bee Gardens for me. I prefer unpretentious and cozy places.

Well done, Peter, David & Jac!

This is not normal. It's amazing!

Don't throw out that chair

Before you throw out that chair which your parents bought in the 80s, think about how you can transform it into an eclectic piece of artwork.Personally, I love chairs. They are useful (coz i'm lazy) and they can potentially add a touch of uniqueness to an otherwise boring room. Here are some of the chairs which have been given a second chance at life. I hope they can inspire you to start giving your old chairs a new look. Enjoy :)

Biggest Countdown Party of the Year!!

I'm so excited. Although we can't celebrate Xmas together this year, we are meeting on 31 December 2009 for the first time to welcome the brand new year.

Thank you, H for doing up the wonderful poster.

I'm so excited!! *beams from ear to ear*

A Christmas wish for a friend

Here's my Christmas wish for you.

My friend.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.

So this is my life.

As I was browsing through my childhood photos, an overwhelming wave of emotions swept over me.

This is my life - so far.

I may not be the president of the United States.

I may not have won an award in my line of work (although I'm proud to have received Employee of the Year award in a relatively big company *beams*).

I did touch somebody's life.

Just my simple gesture of ...

>giving the auntie by the roadside $10 for 1 pack of tissue or
>telling a lame joke that made someone laugh or
>saying something wise once in a while

...did touch him/her at that time.

Perhaps nobody will remember me when they die.

But I know, I did impact someone, at some point of their life.

Perhaps that's the meaning of life.

Be someone to somebody at some point of their life.

This one has no title

The other day, at a drinking session with the old farts, I asked them for their thoughts on several questions. What's your strategy in your career life? What's your meaning in life?

Everybody knew what their strategy is at work but nobody (or maybe most of us) seemed to be able (unable) to articulate what their meaning in life is. That includes me. Is it that difficult? Doesn't it suck that we don't have a meaning in life? So life is all about makan, work, sleep and then mati? SUX!

Anyway, I digress.

I went on a road trip to Malacca and KL recently. The company was fun but the destinations weren't really that exciting. After this trip, I can safely conclude that these two places are only worth visiting once in every 8 years at least. S put it rightly. We've all grown up over the years. Our needs have changed. These places can no longer fulfill what we are looking for.

Just some photos I took on the trip.

This was taken when we had breakfast in JB.

If you are ever there, try out the Abalone & Fishball Soup at this kopitiam.
Alright, it's fake abalone but the soup is mad delicious.

Sorry for this unsightly photo, I was so busy eating that I forgot to take a picture beforehand :p
It's yummy. Trust me.

Day view of Malacca from our hotel room.

Gorgeous night view.

When you walk around the small city of Malacca, you will be tempted with many food choices mainly chicken rice (there are many chicken rice stalls), nynoya food and chendol.
This combination was exactly what we ate in a day.

Secret recipe that will make any chicken rice tastes delicious. Dao-You aka Dark Soya Sauce.
My rice will usually be fully coated with it before I dig in. It's a must for me. Yummy!

The restaurant that serves only chendol.
It has a very nice ambience.
Authentic decoration and Olivia Ong singing at the back. Perfect.
The feeling it gave me was almost similar to Starbucks.
The only difference is there isn't any coffee.
Sorry I forgot to take a picture of the entrance
so you gotta find a bit yourself if you are planning a trip to malacca.

Dinner @ Oleh Sayang. Serves Nynoya Food.
Very popular restaurant amongst locals and tourists.

Last breakfast in Malacca before we set off for KL. One of the nicest BKTs I ever had in years.

No photos of KL coz I was too lazy :p

Have a great weekend!
