Hi

Can share what is the model of the fujifilm compact that you're using?

Hihi,

I'm using an older model of Fujifilm. It's F100. Please follow the links below to see the photos I have taken with this camera. My other photos were taken with Canon DSLR (mostly using 50D and some latest ones with 1000D)

Hihi,

Nope, this camera doesn't have this problem as you can choose from the many auto-settings available to accomodate the surrounding condition. To reduce brightness, I usually select the sunset setting. By the way, my cam is an older model. There are more advanced Fujifilm finepix cameras available now.

IMHO, brightness is generally easier to control than darkness. That's why I prefer cameras with higher ISO limits.

Based on the experience that my friends have, Actually if budget permits, go straight to pro rather than prosumer. I really like panasonic GF1. Both the body and lenses are very light in weight compared to the typical canon or nikon. If you still prefer ps camera, you might wanna try canon G series. I'm not an expert. Can only share my experiences. Perhaps you can explore www.clubsnap.com for more expert user advice.

Good luck in your search! :)

No problem. Oh by the way, I just learnt a new term recently...cameras like Panasonic GF1 or its latest series G2 and Olympus E-PL1 are not DSLR...they're termed as EVIL or electronic viewfinder interchangeable lens. Although these cameras are still considered PS cameras but the good thing is you can change the lens according to your requirements. These are alot cheaper than DSLR and not too much more expensive than typical PS cameras like Canon G11.

Do consider them. I heard that the latest Panasonic G2 is $1199. Comes with 1 kit lens.

Good luck in your camera quest.
