Obsessed with 28 December 1976

Inspired by the title, I went on a little search online about my birthday and look what I found.

Poke My Birthday on 28 December 1976

On your Way to Your Birthday on 28.December.1976:

You were born on Tuesday on 28 December 1976 and you think this is your oldest day of your history but you are sadly wrong. Let's surprise you:

22 February 1976, Sunday, (Your birthday -310 days):

On 22 February 1976, Sunday, your father has produced the semen that will be half of you soon.

He produced 1000 sperms every second of his life and you will be be lucky one out of 500 million sperm he sent on their way in the conceivement. You may find interesting to know that if he had drunk (or not drunk) coffee on this Sunday morning, you might born completely as someone else (for instance in the opposite sex) as kafein changes the speed of male sperms.

8 March 1976, Monday (Your birthday -295 days):

Today your mother ad her last menstrual cycle and started building up the egg, that will be the other half of you.

After today, she will not have this cycle again for a very long time (thanks to you!). She spent Monday as moody, anxious, short-tempered and you should be glad, you were not around her that day!

23 March 1976, Tuesday (Your birthday -280 days):

Your mother's egg is ready to build the other half of you and your father and your mother got together to make you.

But there is still no "you" around so don't get excited much. It can take several hours for your father's sperm to reach your mother's egg and now it is just on its way out.

24 March 1976, Wednesday (Your birthday -279 days):

Out of 500 million sperm on their way to your mother's egg, the sperm which built you has won the race by coming first and the sperm and the egg is became one to make your very first cell. Do you see how lucky your half (the sperm) be by winning coming up first among 500 million other rivals? Never tell you are not lucky anymore!

We can call Wednesday, 24.March.1976 as your "first day alive" because this is when you are a living entity, an embryo, congratulations! Although you are just a 1 cell creature today your unique DNA is also formed so your future destiny like your sex, height, physical apperance, intelligence, characteristic and vulnability to certain dissesases is already been determined.

7 April 1976, Wednesday (Your birthday -265 days):

If your mother is an intelligent women, she would have suspected that she is pregnant at 7.April.1976, Wednesday. She is not very sure yet but she is suspicious. We hope she was excited and joyed, not worried.

14 April 1976, Wednesday (Your birthday -258 days):

Today your mother is telling your father about her pregrancy and he is celebrating to be a daddy!

Day 14 April 1976, Wednesday is also important in that, your heart has pumped for the first time today. We don't know if it is a coincedence that your father learned about you in the very day, your heart first pumped!

29 June 1976, Tuesday (Your birthday -182 days):

Your parents could have lawfully got an abortion until 29.June.1976, Tuesday so this is also an important day of your life. Today they decided you should live!

We are glad they didn't otherwise, we'd lose one site visitor in pokemybirthday.com.

28 December 1976, Tuesday(Your birthday):

You are born to a cruel world. Happy birthday little buddy! We hope you remember to enjoy your life which was a big journey from day minus 310 to today.

To all parents-to-be, don't forget to keep a copy of the local newspaper for your baby on the day he/she is born. I think it'd be a nice momento in the future.

Donate blood. Save Lives.

I have never donated blood in my life.

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't.

Why?

Because I'm petrified of needles. I am scared :'(

But don't be affected by me please because my friends have assured me that blood donation is not as painful as we/I think. Most importantly, our blood can save lives. What's more important than to see a family rejoice over the recovery of their loved ones? I know it because my dad was in need of blood infusion for several days due to his stomach cancer.

Singapore Red Cross Society is looking for blood donors. Can you do a good deed?

Click on the banner ad in my blog (if you see it) to find out more.

Donate blood. Save Lives.

I will go with B to donate blood when I'm back from India.

I'm A+, he's O.

What are you?

Our Dream Refrigerator

B & I make a really good couple.

We love to buy things in bulk.

From shower foam, toilet paper, floor detergent to frozen food. We love to buy stuff by the truck load. When we used to stay in the penthouse, it was normal for us to buy 12 bottles of floor detergent at one go. Crazy right? :p

My housekeeper always shakes her head whenever we return from our shopping trip because our current home is really too small to contain our 'big' purchases. We really need to find our big house soon to store these things. I dunno why we are like that. Probably we hate the feeling when things run out.

Recently I spy a really cool fridge that should be able to contain all the 'junk' we buy. It is a side-by-side unique combination of matching refrigerator and a wine cabinet built by Liebherr. We're not avid wine collector / drinker so the size of the cooler is perfect for us. I believe this fridge is available in Singapore but I don't think we'll ever have the chance to own it. It's freaking more than $5,000, probably close to $10,000! Too expensive! If only it's $1,888. I'll definitely be the first one to grab it. Meanwhile, all I can do is dreammmm...

Nice fridge huh :') I need a god-father or a rich friend. Probably I should just start a fundraising campaign - appeal to 10,000 people for $1 each. Idea?

If only everyday is Sunday...

It's a great day today.

The rain.

The sun.

All the time we have in the world.

If only everyday is Sunday.

Life would be perfect if we have access to unlimited amount of money, good health and good company. I wouldn't ask for more :o)

We started off our day with lunch at our favourite pig's organs soup stall aka (Zhu Zhar Dang or Ter Hwang Kiam Chye) in Serangoon Gardens.

If you like this delicacy as much as we do, you must come and try it.

It's located in the bigger hawker centre (just next to the famous chomp chomp).

Since you are there, do try out the bakery next door.

They sell the most authentic bread that we used to buy from our typical neighbourhood bakeries. Their turnover is pretty fast so you can usually buy freshly baked bread from the oven - yummy!

After lunch, we headed to Seletar Farmway with the intention to visit our favourite parrot. This parrot is a really cute cockatoo. It always begs us for a pat on the head. Unfortunately, it wasn't there today. :( Kinda miss the fellow.

Just some random photos that I took today...

Who's more good-looking? Guinness or Kilkenny ;)

It's nice to have a really cold ale or basically alcohol at 4pm in the afternoon. We had it in a pub along Bukit Timah. I actually took a photo of the place and was ready to post it here until the boss of the pub asked me rudely why I took a photo of his blardy place. Well, since he was rude to me, I shan't give him any 'publicity' even in my humble blog. Blardy ang moh.

After the unpleasant experience, we made a good decision to try out the newly opened Italian restaurant - Cacio e Pepe located along Upper Paya Lebar Road on 4/6 Rochdale Road to be exact.

I love this new restaurant.

Although it was our first time there, lady boss, Jackie and pal (probably the other boss), Bee Eng, treated us with sincerity and warmth. Their hospitality really made us feel very welcome. And because it's not located in atas areas like Chip Bee Gardens or Bukit Timah, this place is totally cool and unpretendious. Well done, gals.

Their food is also to die for. Simply delicious and far far farrrr better than the likes of Da Paolo.

Their pricing is very reasonable since their serving is huge. Our order of 2 appertisers and 1 main stuffed us to the brim.

We had Vongole and Cozze, Calamari Fritti and Pietro Pizza plus a capuccino. All for only $63.80. Mad reasonable right?

Good food, nice ambience, friendly service. I rate them 5/5. Visit them if you can. You will not be disappointed. For reservations, call them at 6281 1905.

What a perfect Sunday. Just the way I like :)

Perfect Marketing Stunt!

Admittedly, I feel stupid that I didn't think of doing this when I was with CF. This is so cool and very impactful. Kudos to the marketing team @ Studio Wu. You guys RAWK! Nobody but chew, indeed.

But this stunt isn't new. Watch this cool advertisement by T-mobile. It's totally hilarious and it gave me goosebumps!

Enjoy :)

It's the Photographer & the Camera.

My friends and I have always been arguing if the camera matters or is it just the photographer?

Today, we finally have the conclusion.

Both matter.

Take a look.

Now or wait?

This is the house that we're (or rather I am) keen in.

We could only take a photo of the facet because you know how suspicious agents can be.

It's located at Jalan Kayu. I know. The area sounds really ulu but hey, it's just behind the stretch of eateries which is good for my father and also for us whenever we feel too lazy to cook or eat out. I'm not sure when was the last time you were here. This place has changed a little. The restaurants here have gotten a little (just a little) more sophisticated than before. I got a feeling that it'll become the Holland Village of the area. Besides, it's within walking distance to the LRT station. I also spy that a mall will be built somewhere down the street.

This property might look abit small from the picture here. It's actually on a 2000 sq ft land with 2,600 built up space. It has 1 room on the first floor which I intend to turn into an entertainment room when our friends or relatives come visit us.

On the second floor, there are 3 and half rooms. Why 3 and half? Because one of the rooms actually has a half size room that kinda look like an entertainment area which of course can be converted to an extra room if necessary. One of the rooms also has a nice balcony (with no view :p).

How? What do you think? Should we get this or wait till next year?

What are friends for?

Forever friends ???????

Maybe not.

Recently, many of my facebook friends have been complaining about the pain or unhappiness caused by their so-called friends. The stories are almost the same. They are hurt because of betrayal. They are hurt because of hypocrisy.

Why must we treat each other like this? We are friends after all, aren't we?

No matter what, we have spent good and memorable times with each other, right?

No?

Well I kept dwelling on it and realised that I'm actually committing the same 'crime' as well. I think I'm a hypocrite. I would actually rather have a relationship with that someone whom I don't fancy much because I don't want to tear the group apart.

Is that hypocrisy?

Yeah, I think so.

But I reckon that also meant trying to live and let live.

We make friends because we want to have fun together and to have a shoulder when we need to cry on.

Whatever it is, the most important thing is friends shouldn't take advantage of one another. Relationship is about give and take, if you just take and take, how can?

I don't think anyone can be completely happy and complaint-free about anyone else.

How can?

Even couples squabble and complain about one another.

Siblings do that.

Friends will do that too.

I guess we just need to learn how to tolerate better and let go of small issues that won't kill us.

Grow up, can?

I hate it when I'm betrayed and so for the same reason, I try not to betray my friends.

Sounds very juvenile?

Believe me. Even the older generations also have problems with the concept of the so-called friends.

You and I are not alone.

Who knows what will happen in the future.

Meanwhile, just embrace in each other's company and treasure everyday we have together.

So who's your BFF?

Amateur Photog Hobbyist - On The Loose!

I finally got the DSLR from my boss. It's not a 450D though. He sold me his EOS50D instead. A higher grade version and still at a very good price. I like :)

Here are some of the photos I've taken with it. I still need a lot of training.

My first model at home...

I like this photo very much...it's the lighting, shadow and feel. Like a very old and experienced dog. Well, experienced photographer may argue otherwise.

The joker of my family isn't very photogenic. He's still a sweetheart nonetheless

My unsuspecting father and his slippers

The remains of my dinner - homemade oven-baked chicken. The focus of this photo is really off.

Our complimentary cake from Coffee Club.

Washed it down with refreshing Rambutan Freeze

Mondays are not that bad, after all.

Had a pretty good day today although I was dreading it to the max in the morning. It turned out fine actually.

The girls and I ended our lovely evening with a good dinner at JPot in Vivocity. I think we laughed so loudly and hard that we actually burnt all the calories we consumed.

Thanks for the good time, babes. Especially you, G *winks* Don't forget our FHG date. Heh.

Sorry H & S. You will definitely receive your gifts at the next BMP...so paisay. What a belated birthday gift. :p

Opps, I did it again.

I have nothing to blog about that is why I'm gonna bore you with my shoe buy again. Heh.

Mad About Shoes

Indeed huh. These are all the shoes that I bought over the past few weeks.

Heee. I'm a happy woman. :)
